Berkana Rune
In ancient rune symbolism, Berkana is one of the most graceful signs of renewal, growth and life's power to bring itself into being again. Evoking nature's revival in every cycle, this ancient rune represents new beginnings, abundance, creative energy and the nourishing aspect of life.
At the origin of the symbol stands the birch tree, associated in northern traditions with rebirth and renewal. Like the birch, able to sprout again even after the harshest conditions, Berkana symbolizes leaving the past behind to open space for the new, and growing and transforming with grace while drawing strength from one's roots.
Berkana is believed to support the energy of growth, abundance, compassion and harmony in the space it occupies, and to accompany the strengthening of creative potential by clearing the way for new beginnings. The ancient bond it forms with feminine and nourishing energy also gives the symbol a protective and multiplying meaning.
Berkana is the timeless symbol of sprouting anew, of growing from the inside out, and of life's power to always create a new beginning for itself.
