Sowilo Rune
In ancient rune symbolism, Sowilo is one of the most powerful symbols representing the life-giving force of the sun, light, and the brightness that comes after darkness. Associated with the uninterrupted motion of the sun, this ancient sign carries the concepts of life energy, success, will and inner strength. It symbolizes the idea that light makes visible not only one's surroundings, but also one's own path.
Sowilo's symbolism rests on the idea of a person recognizing the light at their own center and clarifying their direction through that strength. It is therefore associated with self-confidence, vitality, inspiration and moving toward a goal with determination. Just as the sun nourishes nature's cycle of life, Sowilo is interpreted as a symbol that nourishes the creative force within a person and the will to move forward.
In ancient spiritual teachings, Sowilo is believed to be associated with a bright, vital and elevating energy, and to symbolize the clarifying of intentions, a person remembering their own strength and moving more resolutely along life's path. Its light represents less a force coming from outside than the potential a person carries within becoming visible.
Sowilo is the ancient rune symbol of light showing the way, of inner strength awakening, and of moving toward success in life with determination.
