LOTUS
In ancient spiritual teachings the Lotus is regarded as one of the most powerful symbols of purity, rebirth, spiritual awakening and inner transformation. Although it sends its roots into dark and murky waters, it opens with flawless grace once it reaches the surface, symbolizing a person passing through life's difficulties to reach the light within their own essence.
The Lotus's journey is a metaphor for an inner ascent from darkness toward light. That it preserves its purity whatever the conditions it passes through represents liberation from the weight of the past, transformation and the power to be reborn in each new cycle. For this reason the Lotus is interpreted as an ancient sign not only of beauty, but of spiritual maturity, awareness and a person's return to their own center.
In spiritual symbolism the Lotus is believed to carry the energy of serenity, purification and renewal into the space it occupies, and to remind us to move away from mental and emotional burdens and open room for a clearer inner world. Its opening petals evoke the layer-by-layer expansion of consciousness and a person discovering the light within.
The Lotus is an ancient symbol representing the rise from darkness into light, the preservation of one's essence while transforming, and the courage to bloom again in every new cycle of life.
